2026 Fremont All-Girls Chess Championships
About This Tournament
The 2026 Fremont All-Girls Chess Championship will be completely FREE for all girls, made possible by generous sponsorship from US Chess Women grants. The event is proud to be run by Chief Tournament Director Pranavi Pramod. A Fremont resident and a leader in the local chess community, Pranavi became the nation’s youngest US Chess Tournament Director in 2025, shortly after turning 13 years old.
Time: 10:00am - 3:30pm, Sunday April 26th, 2026
Rating: USCF Dual-Rated.
Pairings are based on the April 2026 regular supplemental regular US Chess rating.
Players must have current US Chess Federation membership.
Time Control: 4 round Swiss, G30 d5 (This means you get 30 minutes, your opponent gets 30 minutes, and with 5-second delay before clock starts counting down on each move)
First round starts at 10am. All players should arrive 10 minutes prior to the first round.
Next round starts after the last game finishes in your section (rolling schedule).
Sections: 5 sections based on USCF rating and grade at school
K-12 1000+
K-5 Unrated
K-5 Under 500
K-5 Under 1000
Grade 6-12 Under 1000 and Unrated
Any K-5 players is unrated on the March 2026 regular supplemental will be allowed to play in the Unrated section.
All 6 sections are for girls. Please note that there are no sections for boys in the main event. However, there is a side event, Simultaneous Exhibition with Swagatha Selvam, which is also FREE, on the first come first serve basis; 10 boards will be open to all ages and all genders to challenge the U14 Champion of the 2025 U.S. Junior Congress National Championships.
We may update event details, like sections and number of rounds, as the tournament date approaches to ensure the best possible experience for all players.
Equipment: Chess sets, notation sheets and pencils will be provided.
Please bring your own clock if you can.
Prizes: Trophies to top 6 in each section.
Medals to all others.
